Sparfuxx connects to no bank and only sees what you enter, confirm or deliberately let it capture. Logging an expense still takes seconds: typed in, via QR code or, on Android, from the payment notification.

Why no bank access
A bank connection would mean giving a service access to your bank. Sparfuxx does without: you log spending yourself, or your Android phone reports the payment. Your banking details stay with you.
The honest price for that: what you don’t log, Sparfuxx doesn’t know. That is why logging is kept as short as possible – and you always choose the category.
Still quick to log
- Type it. Enter the amount, tap a category, done. That is the shortest way and works everywhere.
- Scan a QR code. Your device reads the QR code on an invoice or receipt itself, without AI. The camera image never leaves the device; only the text of the code goes to the server. The biller’s account number is not stored.
- Snap a receipt (Sparfuxx Pro). If a receipt has no such code, Sparfuxx can read it from a photo. For that, the downsized photo goes to a service provider, without your email address and without account balances. Sparfuxx does not store the photo.
- Automatically when you pay (Android). The Android app can pick up payment notifications, but only from the apps you have ticked yourself. Each one becomes a draft, never a finished booking: a human always sets the category and assignment.
If Sparfuxx doesn’t know the format of a notification yet, you type the first payment by hand. From that, Sparfuxx’s own server derives a reading rule; the wording goes to no other service.
What is stored
- Email addresses are encrypted, passwords are only stored as a hash.
- Amounts are stored in plain text. That is a deliberate decision: the monthly calculation adds up directly in the database, and that doesn’t work over encrypted values.
- The data is stored in the EU: database in Frankfurt, servers in Nuremberg. Some service providers are US companies; which ones is listed in the privacy policy.
- No ads, no third-party trackers, no selling of data.
- Your data belongs to you: export as JSON or CSV, and you delete your account yourself – even without a subscription.
